Klarparcel
The short version
Klarparcel does not have a server, does not scrape carrier websites on your behalf, and does not have an account. The list of packages you are tracking, and the pattern data used to recognise a carrier, never leave your device. The one thing that does leave it is the tracking number itself, and only when you tap to open a package: at that point your browser contacts the carrier's own site, the same as if you had typed the address in yourself.

What the app stores, and where
Everything Klarparcel keeps is written to your phone's private app storage, in a folder no other app can read:
- Tracking numbers. Each one you add, trimmed of surrounding whitespace.
- The detected carrier, worked out on the device from the number's shape, and your choice if a number matched more than one carrier.
- A label for each package, either the one you typed or one generated from the carrier and the number.
- Added and last-opened dates, and whether you archived the package.
That is the complete list. There is no usage log, no device identifier, no advertising ID, no crash reporting service, and no record of what you have opened beyond the last-opened date shown on the package itself.
Deleting a package removes it immediately and permanently. Uninstalling the app removes everything at once. There is no copy anywhere else, which also means there is nothing to restore from.
Permissions
Klarparcel requests two runtime permissions: camera and, held automatically at install rather than asked for at runtime, internet. Neither is used the way it might be in another app, and neither is used silently.
The camera is only ever active while the barcode-scanning screen is open. It reads the barcode on a label in front of it and nothing else: no image or video frame is saved, kept in memory after the screen closes, or sent anywhere. Typing the tracking number works exactly the same without ever opening the camera, so granting this permission is always optional.
The internet permission is used for exactly one thing: opening a carrier's own tracking page when you tap Open on a saved package. That request goes from your browser, not silently from inside the app, to the carrier's own website, over an ordinary HTTPS connection. Carrier detection itself needs no network access at all; the pattern data used to recognise a number ships inside the app and is matched entirely on the device.
How a tracking number is recognised
Klarparcel carries a bundled table of carrier tracking-number formats: a pattern and, for most carriers, a checksum rule that catches a mistyped digit. A number you type or scan is compared against that table on the device. No part of this step involves a network request, a server, or any company other than the one whose format happened to match.
A number can match more than one carrier's format. When that happens, Klarparcel shows the candidates and asks which one is correct rather than guessing, and the answer is stored only against that one package.
When you open a package
Tapping Open on a saved package launches your device's browser at the carrier's own tracking page, with the tracking number filled in. From that moment the carrier can see the tracking number and your connection, exactly as it would if you had visited their site directly and typed the number in yourself. Klarparcel has no visibility into what the carrier's website does after that, and that page is governed by the carrier's own privacy policy, not this one.
If no carrier is recognised for a number, opening it runs a plain web search for that number instead. The same applies: the search provider sees the number, nothing else about the package.
Children
Klarparcel is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age. The app has no account system and stores nothing outside your own device's local storage.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the version and effective date at the top of this page change with it. Since the app has no accounts, there is no way to notify anyone individually, so checking back here is how to stay current. A change that weakened any commitment above would contradict the studio's published principles.
