Solo Training
The short version
Solo Training does not have a server. There is nothing to log in to, nothing syncs to the cloud, and the app never transmits your training data anywhere. The one exception is the optional Premium unlock, which is purchased through Google Play and covered below. Everything else on this page follows from the no-server fact.
- Account required
- No. The app has no login
- Your training data leaves your device
- Never, unless you export it yourself
- Analytics or trackers
- None. The only third-party code is Google's own Play Billing library, used solely for the purchase below
- Ads
- None
This policy covers the app. The website that hosts this page has its own separate policy.
What the app stores, and where
Every workout, set, and setting you enter is written to a local database on your phone. It stays there. Specifically:
- Workout data lives entirely in a local database on your device: exercises, sets, weight, reps, effort, and the experience, level and rank the app derives from them.
- Bodyweight tracking is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings, that number is stored locally like everything else, and is never used to compute experience or rank.
- Crash logs are written to a local file only. They are never sent anywhere automatically, because the app has no crash-reporting service wired up. If you tap "Share Crash Log" in Settings, you choose the destination yourself through your phone's own share sheet.
- Data export. The Export Data option in Settings writes a JSON file and hands it to your phone's share sheet. Where it goes after that is entirely up to you.
- Premium unlock status. A single yes/no flag recording whether you've bought Premium, stored locally so the app works offline.
- Uninstalling the app, or using Reset All Data in Settings, deletes everything immediately and permanently. There is no copy anywhere else to restore from.
Permissions
The app requests one runtime permission:
- Notifications. Used only for the optional rest timer and optional training reminders, both scheduled entirely on your device. No push notifications, because there is no server to send them from.
No camera, microphone, location, contacts, or file-storage access. Storage access in particular is explicitly blocked at the app-package level, not merely unused. The app also declares the standard Android billing permission, which does not prompt you and only lets the app talk to Google Play's purchase screen.
Premium purchase
Solo Training offers one optional, one-time purchase, Premium, which unlocks extra analysis and customization screens and never changes your experience, level, stats or rank. The purchase itself is handled entirely by Google Play, not by us:
- Tapping "Unlock Premium" opens Google's own purchase screen. Your payment details go to Google, never to us. We don't see them and couldn't store them if we wanted to.
- Google Play's privacy policy covers that transaction. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- To confirm you own it, the app asks Google Play "did this account buy Premium?" each time it opens, and caches a plain yes/no locally so Premium still works offline. No purchase history, payment method, or personal detail is stored by the app.
- Restoring a purchase (for example after reinstalling) works the same way: it re-asks Google Play, it doesn't ask us.
Data sources
The app ships with a built-in library of 873 exercises: names, target muscles, and equipment. That data comes from the open free-exercise-db project, released into the public domain under The Unlicense. It is bundled into the app at build time and read entirely offline; listing it here is not a legal requirement of that licence, just a straight answer to where it came from.
Everything else the app shows you, your sets, your experience, your level and your stats, is computed on your device from what you logged. None of it comes from, or goes to, anywhere else.
Children
Solo Training is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age. The app has no mechanism to collect information from anyone, since nothing it stores ever leaves the device.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the version and effective date at the top of this page change with it. Since the app has no accounts, there is no way to notify anyone individually, so checking back here is how to stay current.

Medical Disclaimer
Solo Training is a workout tracker, not a medical device and not a substitute for professional medical or fitness advice.
Not medical advice
Nothing in the app, including experience, levels, stats and rank, is a measure of your health or fitness, and none of it is generated or reviewed by a medical professional. It is a gamified log of what you told the app you did.
Talk to a doctor first
Consult a physician before beginning any exercise programme, especially if you have an existing injury, a medical condition, or have been inactive for an extended period. Stop immediately and seek medical attention if you experience pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, or chest discomfort while training.
You assume the risk
Physical exercise carries an inherent risk of injury. By using Solo Training, you accept that risk and agree that the app's developer is not liable for any injury arising from activity you log or perform.
Bodyweight and body metrics
Bodyweight tracking is optional, off by default, and cosmetic only. It is never used to diagnose, treat, or assess any medical condition, and it never affects your experience, level, or rank.
